New Times #1 — Artificial intelligence in the recruitment space

by Fabrice Calando on October 11, 2011

I’m trying out a new feature here at FabriceCalando.com — I’m calling it New Times and I’ll report on and analyze different industry news. Either news directly related to HR and recruitment marketing/advertising space or general digital news and how it affects HR and recruitment. Stay tuned for roughly two new items a week — Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thanks to Sébastien for the idea!

The first news item

Apple and it’s Artificial Intelligence app. Users will be able to search their surroundings by speaking into their phones. The need to type stuff directly into a search engine will dwindle…especially when it comes to location-based information. It’s not exactly new, but it’s going to be big.

Now take a minute to think how that will affect your recruitment. Candidates will walk down the streets and just be able to say something like “Find sales jobs within a mile from here.” They already turn to sites such as Google and Facebook, this brings it to the next level.

What’s your take? Will AI have an impact on the HR/recruitment space?
