I was reading an interview Cleveland.com did with Bill Matterson regarding the 15 years since the end of the comic strip. The interview is interesting, but what marked me the most is when asked what he thinks about the capturing his readers hearts’, Mr. Watterson starts his answer with:
“I just tried to write honestly, and I tried to make this little world fun to look at, so people would take the time to read it.“
Honesty and making it “fun to look at” are some of the building blocks of social media. I like how someone in the “tradition media space” has gained success by implementing these principles and has shown us that they are part of success outside of the online world as well.
